[통계청]「제2회 통계 바로쓰기 공모전」개최

□ 통계청(청장 유경준)은 일상에서 접하는 통계의 해석오류와 왜곡을 바로잡고 통계의 중요성에 대한 인식을 높이기 위해 “제2회 통계 바로쓰기 공모전”을 실시한다.

○ 동 공모전은 일상이 통계인 빅데이터 시대에 통계가 잘못 사용되거나 해석된 사례를 일반국민이 찾아내고 바로잡도록 함으로써 통계 활용에 대한 관심을 높이는 계기로 삼자는 취지에서 추진되었다. 

□ 올해 공모전은 5.29.(월)~7.23.(일)까지 접수하며, 수상작은 9.1. 통계의 날에 시상할 예정이다. 

○ 공모전에는 중학생 이상 참여할 수 있으며, ‘14~’17년 기간 중 언론 등을 통해 발표 또는 인용된 통계 중 잘못되거나 사실과 다르게 해석된 통계사례를 대상으로 하면 된다. 

○ 참여방법은참가신청서와함께사례기술서를공모전홈페이지(www.statcontest.co.kr), 전자우편, 우편접수 등으로 제출하면 된다.

○ 심사결과에 따라 1등(1편, 200만원, 통계청장표창), 2등(2편, 100만원, 통계청장표창), 3등(5편, 20만원, 통계청장표창)은 통계의날 행사에 초청되며, 그 밖에 격려상 수상작에 대해서는 5만원 상품권을 수여할 예정이다.
